Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager
Reports to: General Manager
Job Purpose:
Facilitate Quality Assurance activities and validate new products, product changes, and new/current processes/equipment to ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Core Role Responsibilities:
-Implement SQF Food Safety Management System.
- Facilitate the creation, validation, and implementation of food safety and quality systems in line with legislative, customer, food safety, and internal requirements.
- Manage the HACCP program as part of the SQF Food Safety Management System.
- Oversee all verification activities as per the verification schedule, including those carried out by QC and QA staff, and manage product and process verification activities.
- Drive continuous improvement across all sites and initiate corrective action where necessary to ensure the safety and consistent quality of products. Follow up on major or critical customer complaints and initiate formal corrective action where required.
- Facilitate food safety and quality training as directed by management.
- Support the New Product Development process, including the creation of information/data for operations, labels, and product-specific process control logs.
- Manage new product specifications for ingredients, components, and finished products.
- Manage specification updates.
- Review ingredients and nutritional's for development products to ensure compliance with legislative and company requirements.
- Create, review, and approve label information to ensure compliance with legislative and legal requirements.
- Review and approve new raw materials and raw material substitutions.
- Review new products and related processes post-launch.
- Stay updated with trends, legal, and regulatory requirements that apply to products, processes, ingredients, and compliance.
- Perform any other duties as directed by management.
Role Requirements:
- Food Science/Technology Degree
- Experience with SQF/GFSI Food Safety Management System.
Desirable:
- HACCP Principles and Applications
- Recognized Food Safety Supervisor training
Experience:
- Experience in a Food Technical role within the food industry
- Practical competency with Microsoft Office applications
Desirable:
- Experience with Food Safety Management Systems
- Experience with Fresh Produce
