The Gig

An exciting opportunity has opened up for a technically sharp, process-driven, and solutions-focused Quality Assurance Engineer to join a major government-backed project. You’ll play a key role in upholding quality across complex civil works, including earthworks, utilities, drainage, and large structures, all part of a landmark community development and a cutting-edge recycling facility.

Based on site in Kurnell and reporting to the Senior Engineer, you’ll ply your trade to lead inspection and testing processes, manage ITPs and documentation, and work closely with construction teams and subcontractors to resolve issues quickly and proactively.

Your role will be essential in ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining the highest standards across the full lifecycle of delivery.

You’re a hands-on engineer with a strong work ethic, clear communication, and a focus on safe, efficient delivery. Organised and adaptable, you work closely with teams to keep progress on track and take pride in doing things right the first time.e your technical expertise will help both shape this incredible facility, and deliver real impact to the local community.

You will be trusted with:

  • Reviewing specifications and inspecting construction activity
  • Developing project plans while meeting quality benchmarks, timelines, and resource needs.
  • Providing technical expertise for civil packages (utilities, earthworks, drainage), with a focus on quality assurance.
  • Ensuring quality control within resource allocations.
  • Identifying and managing risks with proactive assessments, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Preparing reports around non-conformance and defects
  • Maintaining communication with stakeholders and sub-contractors to ensure quality standards are followed.
  • Keeping accurate documentation and generating quality performance reports for senior management.
What’s In Your Toolbox?
  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline)
  • 3+ years' experience in quality roles across civil construction projects
  • Solid understanding of ITPs, NCRs, specifications, and QA systems
  • Confident interpreting technical drawings and applying codes and standards
  • Strong reporting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and quality management systems (e.g. Aconex, HammerTech)
You’re a detail-driven professional with solid field experience, a strong understanding of civil construction standards, and a proactive approach to quality. Confident working across teams and with subcontractors, you bring structure to complexity, turning data, inspections, and regulations into clear actions that drive better outcomes on site.
