Registered Nurses (Mental Health, Surgical and chronic disease management) provide nursing care to patients with mental health illness, disorder and dysfunction, and those experiencing emotional difficulties, distress and crisis in health, welfare and aged care facilities, correctional services and the community.

Task & Responsibilities
- Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for patients according to accepted nursing practice and standards
- works in consultation with other health professionals and members of health teams, and co-ordinating the care of patients
- provides interventions, treatments and therapies such as medications, and monitors responses to treatment and care plans
- promotes health and assists in preventing ill health by participating in health education and other health promotion activities
- answers questions and providing information to patients and families about treatment and care
- supervises and co-ordinates the work of enrolled nurses and other health care workers.
Qualification & Experience
Essential Requirements
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification, including a current AHPRA registration
- Experience in aged care and Acute Mental Health
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification.
- AHPRA registration as Registered Nurse Division 1.
- Previous experience and qualifications in mental health nursing will be highly regarded.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities.
- Empathy, patience, and a commitment to providing holistic care.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
