Your role at St John of God Murdoch Hospital
You will be responsible for a high standard of patient care to our neonatal patients on our St Mary’s Ward. Opportunity (for the appropriate skills) to also work on the ward caring for women and their families postnatally.
Working within our dedicated Special Care Unit our Neonatal team offer extra care to newborn babies particularly in the first month after birth that have been born prematurely, unwell or need specialized medical support. You will be joining a dedicated multidisciplinary team providing compassion care and expertise.
The Position
Commitment to organisation’s service ethos through the provision of excellent serviceCaregivers are required to act in accordance with the standards of behaviour outlined in the SJGHC Code of Conduct document. Maintain and develop clinical skills in order to care for patients appropriate to level of competence. Deliver a high standard of patient care utilizing appropriate resources cost effectively. Adhere to and supports hospital policies, procedures and standards. Act as the patient’s advocate and facilitate the rights of individuals. Provide patient education and acts as a resource where appropriate. Participate in a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care through the continuum of care. Prioritise workload using resources effectively. Provide supervision to Enrolled Nurses, students and PCAs as required.
You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, a demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and satisfaction, along with well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
To succeed you will have the ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
Registered Nurses with minimum 2 years Post Graduate experience, with a Graduate Certificate or recognised qualification/s in Neonatal Nursing and recent experience working in Special Care Nurseries are encouraged to apply.
