Registered Nurse – Operating Theatre Nurse Full Time / Part Time

About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team as an Operating Theatre Nurse. This full-time or part-time role will be based in our state-of-the-art facility located in Woolloongabba, QLD.
As an Operating Theatre Nurse at South Brisbane Day Hospital, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality, compassionate patient care throughout the surgical journey. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and maintaining the operating theatre environment to the highest standards of safety and cleanliness

• Assisting surgeons and anaesthetists during surgical procedures, ensuring the smooth running of operations

• Monitoring patients' vital signs and providing immediate nursing care as required

• Accurately documenting all relevant patient information and surgical details

• Restocking and maintaining surgical equipment and supplies

• Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures and infection control protocols

• Actively participating in continuous learning and professional development opportunities

What we're looking for

• Registered Nurse with a current AHPRA registration

• Minimum 2 years' experience working in an operating theatre or similar acute care setting

• Demonstrated expertise in delivering safe, effective and compassionate patient care

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work calmly under pressure

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork

• Commitment to upholding the highest standards of infection control and workplace safety

• Passion for ongoing professional development and a desire to contribute to a high-performing team
