AIR6500 is the RAAF’s $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked ‘system of systems’ that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.

This role can be performed from Adelaide, Melbourne or Canberra
 

Your responsibilities will include:

The RF Engineer we are looking for has a range of experience in Electromagnetic Environmental Effects, RF Systems and RF Modelling. The primarily responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Whole of System EMC/EMI, EMSEC and RADHAZ design, modelling, support, testing and evaluation capability.
  • Coordinating the Electromagnetic Environmental Effect artefacts for the program.
  • Providing Electromagnetic Environmental Effect review of plans, designs and testing.
  • Contributing to CDRL development in accordance with ASDEFCON.
  • Assisting with performing impact assessments, engineering analysis and resolve decisions for system changes, anomalies or contract change proposals.
  • Providing technical input into engineering drawings and designs.
  • Working with a broad set of stakeholders, across the AIR6500 program, and Lockheed Martin business for the achievement of common goals.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will also have:
• Experience in EMC/EMI, EMSEC and RADHAZ domain.
• Strong willingness to learn and take on challenges in new domain area.
• Knowledge of packaging for ruggedised deployable land-based systems.
• Understanding of systems engineering process.
• Knowledge of Configuration Management and baselining of engineering artefacts.
• Proficient in concept development
