Job Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Risk, Quality and Compliance Manager to join our Sydney CBD team on a full time, permanent basis. In this role you will be leading the development, implementation, and ongoing review of risk management and quality systems and processes on a national basis. Reporting into the CEO you will be responsible for ensuring compliance, driving a culture of continuous improvement, and overseeing all aspects of risk management, quality assurance, and compliance activities within the organisation, including incident management and change management. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the overall clinical governance across the organisation including leading the coordination and function of the Medical Advisory Committee and Risk, Safety and Quality national meetings
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive risk management and compliance framework for the fertility business, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory obligations.
  • Design and implement effective reporting strategies to monitor, evaluate, and communicate performance against the risk and compliance framework across all levels of the organisation.
  • Champion a proactive risk-aware culture, embedding risk management principles into daily operations, decision-making processes, and organisational values.
  • Manage and coordinate relationships with all relevant federal, state, and local accreditation and regulatory bodies, ensuring timely reporting, audit readiness, and ongoing compliance with healthcare and fertility industry requirements.
  • Enhance and maintain the operational Quality Management System (QMS), supporting accreditation standards, process consistency, and clinical and operational excellence.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying gaps, analysing incidents or near-misses, and fostering a culture of learning, accountability, and patient safety.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have solid experience working as the Head of Risk in a complex, healthcare environment. You will bring strong leadership skills, sound risk and compliance judgment and a strategic mindset with the ability to partner with the business and support operations. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience as the Head of Risk, working in a complex healthcare setting. 
  • An appropriate tertiary qualification relevant to the industry Risk and quality management in the healthcare industry.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging regulators and senior executives
  • Detailed understanding of the regulatory environment and requirements of the industry, including but not limited to ISO 9001 &15189, Standards for National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS), NHMRC Guidelines 2017 (updated 2023), NPACC and relevant legislation
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of risk management frameworks, audit planning and reporting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of reporting and compliance requirements of key government and other regulatory bodies.
  • Proven ability to translate legislative accreditation requirements into effective policy and practice. Proven ability to make correct decisions on complex and technical matters.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with an open and proactive approach to understanding, learning, and problem-solving.
