About the Role
The Security and Emergency Supervisor plays a vital role in managing emergency and incident responses, implementing security procedures, and training staff in emergency preparedness. This role requires a proactive and highly organised professional with a strong track record in handling high-stakes situations while ensuring compliance and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
Emergency and Incident Management
- Lead and coordinate emergency responses to minimise harm and operational disruptions.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans.
- Monitor ongoing incidents and ensure real-time communication with Global Security.
Counter-Surveillance
- Identify and monitor physical surveillance threats in and around the precinct.
- Assess vulnerabilities in physical security and recommend enhancements.
- Gather intelligence to evaluate potential surveillance risks and develop countermeasures.
Security and Emergency Procedures
- Continuously improve and update SOPs for security and emergency management.
- Ensure all departments are aware of and understand security procedures.
Training and Development
- Provide training on emergency procedures and incident response.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust programs as needed.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with Global Security to align risk management and emergency preparedness initiatives.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders during emergencies.
Skills, Experience, and Attributes
Required:
- Minimum of two years' experience in emergency response, security, or a related field.
- Current Security Licence 1A.
- First aid and CPR certification.
- Police Check
- Working with Children Check
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and engage staff at all levels.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accurate documentation and follow-through.
Desirable:
- Certifications in Security Risk Analysis, Emergency Response, or Safety Management.
- Strong critical thinking and curiosity to identify and assess potential risks.
