  • Salary - Range from $147,074 (plus 15.4% superannuation) depending on experience

The team   

The Companies, Registered Liquidators and Small Business team is responsible for regulating companies, registered liquidators, and small businesses to ensure they comply with laws administered by ASIC and promote market integrity. 

The team conducts proactive surveillance, decides applications for relief from legislative requirements, supports regulatory reform activities, and engages with stakeholders to address current and emerging issues. 

The role 

This role is within the Companies part of the team. As a Senior Analyst/Lawyer, you will: 

  • Lead risk-based supervision projects to ensure legal compliance and better outcomes for investors, consumers, and markets. 
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager on thematic reviews and surveillances to identify and solve regulatory issues. 
  • Supervise applications for legislative relief to ensure quality and consistency with ASIC policy. 
  • Collaborate on sector strategy, priorities, and regulatory strategies. 
  • Contribute to policy and law reform, including new guidance. 
  • Work with other ASIC teams on enforcement and compliance matters. 

About you  

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification (e.g., law, commerce, arts, or public policy) and experience in corporate regulation, public policy, and governance.  

Other key skills and experience include:   

  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills 
  • Stakeholder management experience. 
  • Project management. 
  • Effective communication skills.
