JOB DESCRIPTION

A Barber at UNOIT is able to perform all [or most] services advertised on the UNOIT BARBER service menu. The UNOIT barbers create a supportive and helpful team environment – when barbers don’t have clients the expectation is that we help each other and keep our eyes open to general cleaning duties and front desk reception.

Customer service is paramount – always offer solutions to clients, be it by recommending a product to help with a scalp or hair concern, a different style to better suit their hair type etc.

Learn, use and recommend the products we offer.

Be confident in offering thorough + relaxing shampoo and scalp massage basin work.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Qualified Hairdresser or Barber Cert 3 or above

Minimum 1-2 years experience working in a barbershop

Task & Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sterilising tools such as scissors, combs, and clippers to maintain hygiene standards.
• ​Consulting with clients to understand their preferences, recommending styles, treatments, and colours that suit their needs and hair type.
• ​Cutting and styling hair using tools such as scissors, clippers, blow dryers, and curling irons, including specialised haircuts and precision techniques like fades.
• ​Providing hair treatments, including deep conditioning, keratin treatments, and scalp massages.
• ​Mixing and applying chemical solutions for colouring, straightening, or perming hair, with the ability to develop and refine these techniques further.
• ​Shaping and trimming beards and moustaches for male clients.
• ​Staying updated on the latest hair care trends, styles, and cutting techniques.
• ​Ensuring cleanliness by maintaining workstations, sweeping floors, and sterilising tools.
• ​Maintaining client records, including services rendered, products used, and fees charged.
• ​Managing stock and supplies by monitoring inventory and placing orders when needed.

Qualification & Experience

Qualified Hairdresser or Barber Cert 3 or above

Minimum 1-2 years experience working in a barbershop
