Position: Senior Business Performance Analyst – Grade 9/10 ($125,693 - $138,510 + Super)Duration: Temporary 24 Months Directorate: Premiums and Markets, Workers Compensation & Home Building Compensation 

Summary of role 
Provides analysis, reporting and input into core regulatory functions for premiums and market practices. Proactively collaborates cross-functionally to develop or contribute to development of solutions and recommendations for improved customer outcomes and delivery of regulatory value, including processes, regulatory tools and continuous improvement initiatives.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Proactive participation and contribution to team engagement and a positive and supportive culture across the team. 
  • Provide input into the supervisory activities for pricing and market practices, e.g. compliance with requirements for wages declarations.
  • Input and participation in building up the regulatory capability, drive stakeholder engagement and development of a strong, positive relationship with the Insurer Supervision Directorate and other regulatory functions. 
  • Provide input and analysis into the annual reviews of pricing for the Workers Compensation and Home Building Compensation schemes. 
  • Conduct financial analysis for the prudential regulation of Self and Specialised Insurers in the Workers Compensation scheme.  
  • Provide input and analysis to regular internal and external reporting and briefs. 
  • Proactively contribute the improvement of regulatory and technical capability across the team.

About you 

  • 3-5 years experience with financial analysis. 
  • Insurance industry exposure and knowledge an advantage. 
  • Qualifications in finance, economics, accounting or any analytical disciplines preferred.  
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a creative mindset. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team, plan and proactively engage with relevant stakeholders 
  • Ability to work in an agile manner, quickly adapt to change and effectively manage conflicting priorities.
