Join a high-impact team delivering strategic communications that improve the lives of Queenslanders. We’re hiring two Senior Digital and Media Officers to join our Strategic Communications unit — same role description, but two distinct focuses:

• One role leads media inquiries, issues management and proactive media
• The other leads digital strategy, social content, and video production

Both permanent roles offer the chance to shape campaigns in work health and safety, industrial relations, electrical safety and workers’ compensation.

You’ll need sharp writing skills, sound judgement, and a flexible, team-first attitude. If you’re a strategic thinker with a flair for content, media or digital — we want to hear from you.

We're hiring: Senior Digital and Media Officers (2 x Permanent Roles)

Join a high-impact communications team driving change for Queenslanders We're on the lookout for two talented Senior Digital and Media Officers to join our Strategic Communications team.

Both roles share the same classification and position description — but we're recruiting for two distinct skillsets:

• One role will lead on media inquiries, issues management and media opportunities
• The other will lead on social media strategy, digital content planning and video and editing.

Both roles are permanent and offer the opportunity to shape strategic communications that genuinely make a difference — in areas like work health and safety, electrical safety, industrial relations and workers' compensation.

Media-Focused Role: You're media savvy and stay calm under pressure

We're looking for someone who:

• Knows how to respond quickly to media inquiries, work well under pressure
• Can write compelling speeches, media releases and executive messages with authority
• Understands the government landscape and has sound judgement on reputational risk
• Thrives in issues-rich, fast-paced environments, and takes direction well

This role will see you leading on proactive media planning, reactive media responses, briefing executives, and navigating complex reputational issues. You'll be a go-to for high-quality, politically astute media advice.

Digital/Social-Focused Role: You're the digital brain with creative edge

We're looking for someone who:

• Lives and breathes social media content and trends across all platforms
• Can build platform-first content strategies with measurable impact
• Knows how to analyse digital performance and adjust on the fly
• Has a sharp creative eye — and proven experience delivering engaging, highperforming content

This role is about strategy and planning — not just posting. You'll drive our digital approach, commission and produce video and visual assets, and lead on content that cuts through in a cluttered digital world.

What both roles require:

• Strategic thinkers who can turn insights into action
• Excellent writers with attention to detail
• Confident communicators who build positive relationships across the organisation
• A positive, team-first attitude — we're building a strong, supportive team culture
• A flexible mindset and the ability to shift gears when priorities change

You'll be supported by great leaders, clear processes, and a team who value creativity, courage and collaboration.

Applications to remain current for 12 months.
