Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Estimator located in Maddington, WA. The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for projects, analyzing project requirements, and developing cost-effective solutions. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing project plans and specifications, collaborating with project managers and vendors, and providing detailed cost breakdowns. The Senior Estimator will also be responsible for ensuring all estimates are compliant with industry standards and company guidelines. Work Visa 482 and pathway to Permanent Residency (PR) in Australia for the ideal candidate. Estimating - GeneralLiaise with architects, engineers, builders, contractors, suppliers and project owners;Assisting Construction Managers, Architects and Surveyors in planning and organization;Interpreting plans, specifications, regulations and codes of practice;Preparing preliminary sketches, working drawings and specifications; Prepare a 'Bill of Quantities' or cost estimate which lists the individual components required to construct the project;Evaluate the project and cost estimate for compliance with specifications, regulations and standards;Calculating costs and estimating time scales. Estimating - New JobsEnsure that you do a handover meeting with planning department for new jobs;Ensure that budgets and job files are setup prior to handover meetings – jobs need to be setup in Timberline, PRS;On acceptance of estimate prepare a detailed scope of works including highlighting special purchases and any special requirements or verbal agreements;Prepare a cost estimate breakdown for budgeting purposes;Highlight any savings you may consider achievable or areas of concern;Working knowledge of V6 or Logikal software estimating system;Develop an understanding of the risk areas in a project and price accordingly. Qualifications5-10 years experience in the commercial building industry;Experience in preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects;Proficiency in reading and interpreting project plans and specifications;Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;Ability to accurately assess risk – material, labour and o/head;Excellent communication and collaboration skills;Proficiency in estimation software and other relevant computer applications such as Excel, Word, Auto Cad and Logikal/V6;Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously;Operate under time constraints, ie. tender deadlines etc;Administrative skills, excellent document control;Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related field;Familiarity with industry standards and regulations is beneficial.
