About The Role
This role provides first line support of the Laboratory Information System (LIS). The role includes development and enhancement, documentation and training relating to the LIS. The Pathology Information Officer will also be required to support other IT systems utilised in Pathology and may be required to install IT hardware at St Vincent’s Hospital and at St Vincent’s Pathology collection centres.

Classifications for this position will range from classification range HS4 - HS29 ($83,647.20 - $92,482.00 per annum pro rata) - possibility of over award for the right candidate

About Pathology
St Vincent’s Pathology provides pathology services to St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, to a number of Private Hospitals and to Specialist and general practitioners in and around Melbourne. Via a network of over 60 accreditated Pathology Collection Centres located across Metropolitan Melbourne, St Vincent’s Pathology services privately referred patients in the community.

POSITION PURPOSE

POSITION DUTIES
Provide support and troubleshoot all Pathology IT issuesSupport the maintenance and development of St Vincent’s Hospital internet and intranetAs requested, write data extracts for managing reporting of Pathology statisticsSupport and implement HL7 integration for internal and external systemsSupport and implement change initiatives as directedSupport Pathology reporting to My Health RecordSupport implementation of electronic medical record at St Vincent’s HospitalLiaise with LIS vendor and hospital IT relating to LIS/CIS upgradesParticipate in and support the change control process for informatics systems and processesResponsible for documenting changes to systems and gaining relevant approval for changesTest and validate changes to programs after creation/modification and before release to general usersCommunicate to internal and external stakeholder service enhancements, updates and disruptionsProvide remote and on-site support to medical practices utilising St Vincent’s PathologyEngage with external clinics and clinicians to provide access to electronic resultsFacilitate staff onboarding, training and access requirements for LIS and IT Systems as requiredPerform audits of user accounts access and other quality audits as requestedIdentify, report, and actively participate in risk mitigation.Engage in and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.Ensure informatics documentation are in accordance with the St Vincent’s Quality Management System and compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements in relation to informatic.Participate and support relevant activities to ensure compliance with NATA accreditation in ISO 15189 and NPAAC requirements, TGA cGMP, and other regulatory and legislative requirements in relation to informatic.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential Registration, License Or Qualification Requirements
