About the Position

The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain, protect and enhance the City's unique and recognisable character of its parks, streetscapes, recreational and natural areas, in accordance with the City's environmental management plans and work schedule. The Senior Plant Operator - Broad Acre will undertake tractor duties by providing efficient, high quality mowing services, working to maintain and enhance turf in parks, reserves, verges, sumps and right of ways throughout the City of South Perth.

To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate:

  • Working knowledge of turf management and/ or horticultural
  • Knowledge of safe working practices in regard to maintaining mechincal plant
  • Experience in the safe operation and user maintenance of plant and equipment required to undertake turf maintenance operations
  • Experience in mowing and gardening for parks, reserves and streetscapes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Written literacy and numeracy skills to provide information and training to others
  • Current 'MR' Class Driver's Licence
  • Current Provide First Aid certificate
  • Current Basic Worksite Traffic Management certificate
