About the role

The Senior Treasury Dealer is responsible for managing wholesale funding, securitisation programmes and liquidity risk for the bank in compliance with prudential requirements, Risk Appetite Statement (RAS), strategy, budgets and policy requirements.

The Senior Treasury Dealer is also responsible for providing timely and accurate reporting and analysis to the Manager Bank Treasury and other key stakeholder groups across the business including the Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO), Bank Executive Committee (BEX) and the Board. 

As part of a small Bank Treasury team, the Senior Treasury Dealer also provides backup for and undertake other Treasury team roles and responsibilities from time to time.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan, negotiate and arrange transactions under the bank’s debt and securitisation programmes in accordance with the bank’s liquidity management strategy and annual three-year funding plan.
  • Subject to market conditions and in collaboration with Manager Bank Treasury, ensure pricing and volumes are aligned with the bank's budget and funding requirements,
  • Maintain the bank's internal and external securitisation programs ensuring compliance with APRA, RBA and internal requirements. This includes reconciliations, monthly external reports, as well as completing top-ups as necessary to meet funding and prudential requirements.
  • Regularly review the bank’s existing debt programmes and establish new programmes in accordance with the bank’s approved liquidity management strategy and annual three-year funding plan.
  • Prepare reporting and analysis covering securitisation and funding markets as well as the bank’s current and expected funding needs. Deliver this information to key internal stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support and advise the Manager Bank Treasury with respect to the bank’s wholesale funding and securitisation programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with wholesale investors, lead managers and advisors to grow and diversify the investor base.
  • Proactively manage the bank’s liquidity holdings with respect to considerations such as market conditions, budgets, cashflows forecasts, limits and policy requirements.
  • Review and update the bank’s financial and risk modelling relating to wholesale funding and liquidity requirements to ensure positions, assumptions and forecasts are accurate, in line with strategic objectives and market conditions.

About you

  • University degree in relevant study area  
  • 5+ years relevant experience
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of financial market products, liquidity management and funding markets
  • Understands and is knowledgeable about bank / ADI regulatory requirements pertaining the treasury
  • Experience with treasury management, market information and cleating systems e.g. GTreasury, Thomson Reuters, Austraclear
  • Knowledge of asset and liability management and the broader dynamics of a bank balance sheet such as interest rate risk
  • Experience with residential mortgage-backed securitisation transactions, self-securitisation and capital relief Demonstrate a strong ability to solve problems, perform numerical calculations and interpret data in different situations. 
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to read, analyse and communicate written and verbal information.
