We are seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer with strong expertise in power electronics and embedded development on DSP microcontrollers. In this role, you’ll be a key contributor to a new automotive-grade DC-DC battery charger module designed for recreational vehicles. This innovative system will enable the charging of auxiliary batteries using multiple power sources, including the vehicle's main battery and solar panels.

You'll be responsible for architecting and implementing high-reliability embedded software, ensuring safe and efficient operation under diverse input conditions. In addition to technical development, you will lead quality assurance activities and author key project documentation within the APQP framework.

You’ll collaborate with a cross-functional team consisting of validation engineers, hardware engineers, project managers, and junior software developers to bring this next-generation charging module to market.

Key Responsibilities

·        Lead embedded software development for both standard and digital signal processor (DSP) microcontrollers.

·        Apply deep knowledge of power electronics to real-world automotive products.

·        Drive quality assurance through unit testing, code inspection, and static analysis.

·        Follow structured automotive development practices (e.g., APQP).

·        Write and maintain technical documentation: Statement of Requirements (SOR), Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), Hardware-Software Interface Specifications (HSI).

·        Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and risk assessments.

·        Mentor junior team members and support cross-functional collaboration.

Key Requirements

·        At least 5 years [UT1] [AR2] of experience working in power electronics

·        Experience in the automotive industry beneficial

·        Proven track record of successful software releases leading to project deliveries

·        Examples of involvement in DC-DC related projects such as 12V Battery charging systems

·        Proven experience with embedded C development for DSP and microcontrollers.

·        Strong background in  power electronics in particular MPPT charging algorithms

·        Experience programming Battery management systems with charging algorithms for different battery chemistries.

·        Proven ability to design control algorithms like MPPT and PFC.

·        Familiarity with automotive product development processes (e.g., APQP).

·        Experience with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN)

·        Experience with Vector CANoe or CANalyzer toolchains

·        Hands-on experience with quality tools: unit testing, static analysis, and code inspection.

·        Exposure to version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD environments.

·        Defining, documenting and managing requirements (Statement of Requirements, Software Detail Design, Hardware Software Interface specifications, etc.).

·        Customer focus in ensuring all requirements, regulatory and technical requirements are met

·        Pragmatic problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

·        Ability to work in a dynamic environment with cross functional teams

Nice-to-Have:

·        Familiarity with automotive product development processes (e.g., ASPICE)

·        Familiarity with Functional Safety standards such as ISO 26262.

·        Familiarity with Cyber security standards such as ISO 21434.

·        Familiarity with NXP, TI or ST microcontrollers

·        Familiarity with 8D problem solving processes

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
