Task & Responsibilities
- Fixing cracks, holes, and other damage in existing plaster surfaces to restore them to their original condition.
- Working alongside carpenters, painters, and other construction professionals to ensure that plastering is completed in coordination with other aspects of a project.
- Applying and finishing materials for soundproofing, insulation, and fire resistance.
- Mixing and applying layers of plaster, cement, or render to surfaces, ensuring an even and smooth finish with consistent thickness.
- Calculating the quantity of materials needed for a job, including plaster, render, and other supplies
- Aligning and straightening corners, edges, and flat surfaces on walls and ceilings.
- Installing plaster and decorative features such as cornices, panel mouldings, and ceiling centres.
- Covering seams and fixing points with plaster and sealants, then smoothing them with brushes and sandpaper.
- Preparing and attaching corner beads to ensure precise angles.
Qualification & Experience
- Relevant qualifications in construction, solid plastering or a related field (At least Certificate III, comparable to Australian Framework Qualifications).
- Proven experience of at least 24 months as a Solid Plasterer, with a portfolio of completed projects.
- In-depth knowledge of plastering techniques, materials, and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
