Virtus Art is a Melbourne based construction company that offers services such as caulking, patching, floor preparation, rendering and solid plastering, welding services and grinding, with extensive experience across industrial and commercial industries.

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Renderer (Solid Plasterer) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail and a strong work ethic, with experience working on both residential and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities: 

·        Repair damaged plaster surfaces and restore finishes on existing structures

·        Prepare and mix plaster, render, or other materials to achieve desired consistency and finish.

·        Fill joints and other holes with wet plaster or sealing compounds, then smooth and finish using wet brushes and sandpaper.

·        Prepare and apply layers of plaster, cement, and render to surfaces using trowels, ensuring coats are smooth and level with consistent thickness.

·        Ensure walls and ceilings are plumb and straight, including corners and angles.

·        Apply decorative textures to finishing coats for aesthetic detailing.

·        Ensure all work is completed in line with safety standards and industry regulations.

·        Clean and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring proper care and storage.

·        Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and team members to ensure project goals are met.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Solid Plasterer or in a similar role (minimum 2 years full time, or equivalent part time/casual experience solid plastering)

• In-depth knowledge of plastering techniques, materials, and tools.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently and accurately.

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

• Full working knowledge of safety practices on construction sites.

• Drivers Licence

• Construction White card
