Speech Pathology Assistant (4th Year Student)

Hey there, future Speechie! Are you in your final year of Speech Pathology and keen to get real clinical experience before stepping into a full-time role? We’re looking for a Speech Pathology Assistant to join our team at Bite & Babble– a place where we work hard, have fun, and support each other every step of the way.

What’s the role?

• 1-2 days per week (starting with 4 face-to-face clients per day)
• 15 minutes of prep and note-writing before and after each session – because we know you need time to do your best work
• Work with paediatric clients across speech, language, fluency, AAC, feeding, and orofacial myofunctional therapy (OMT)
• Implement therapy plans created by a Senior Speechie – no pressure to write your own just yet!
• A mix of in-clinic sessions, plus 1 mobile session per week (we’ve got travel covered at $0.96 per hour)
• A shared 1-hour lunch break – because everyone needs time to eat, chat, debrief, or just scroll TikTok in peace!

What support will you get?

• 1:1 supervision with a Senior Speechie every fortnight
• Group supervision with the team every fortnight
• Monthly team meetings to stay connected and up to date
• Access to all the therapy resources you could need
• Termly team bonding & PD sessions (every 10 weeks) – because learning and having fun go hand in hand!

What’s next after graduation?

We’re big on growth and career progression, so if you love it here (we think you will!), there’s a clear pathway to a full-time Speechie role, with:

• A 4-day work week (hello, long weekends!)
• Gradual increase in billable hours, so you’re never overwhelmed
