About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced site superintendent to join our core management team on an 8:6 FIFO roster. This role is pivotal in overseeing day-to-day site crew operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.

  • Project Planning & Budgeting – Develop project plans, define scope and KPIs, and assist with budgeting while aligning with strategic cost expectations.
  • Operations & Resource Management – Oversee operations, asset deployment, and resource utilization while maintaining schedules and liaising with the Operations Manager.
  • Communication & Performance Monitoring – Engage with teams and stakeholders, track project performance, and use internal systems for cost and timeline management.
  • Staff & Technical Support – Manage staff, rosters, HR/IR functions, and provide technical support to personnel, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Site Operations & Cost Control – Ensure equipment adequacy, oversee scheduling, manage costs, mitigate scope creep, and facilitate invoicing.
  • Essential Criteria:

  • Statutory Supervisor Certificate (Section 26 – minimum requirement).
  • Bulk earthworks  experience: A minimum of 15 years in the mining, civil, or bulk earthworks sectors, with at least 2 years in a superintendent role.
  • Supervisory Experience: Proven track record in supervising plant operator crew of up to 35 people.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of civil, mining, and construction operations, including plant, equipment, and personnel management.
  • HR/IR Knowledge: Broad understanding of HR/IR requirements, FairWork regulations, and general OH&S principles.
  • Desirable Skills:

  • Strong plant operator background with exposure with dozers, excavators, loaders, grader and articulated haul trucks.
  • In date Rio Tino Inductions.
  • Certifications: HR Class WA driver’s licence and a senior first-aid certificate.
