The Opportunity

We require a Support Worker to join Pearl Home Care Melbourne North East on a casual basis, with potential to consider part time for the right candidate.  As our Support Worker, your primary responsibility will be to provide in-home care to our culturally and linguistically diverse elderly clients and their families. 

You will play a key role in helping our clients maintain their dignity and providing them with services that support them with their health, happiness and independent living, including but not limited to:

• Assisting with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing

• Meal preparation 

• Accompany clients to appointments, social activities or other outings

• Support with domestic assistance/housekeeping and errands

• Emotional support and companionship

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of care provided

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Minimum Certificate III Individual Support or equivalent

• 3+ years experience as an Aged Care Support Worker

• Current First Aid Certificate and CPR

• Greek or Italian speaking highly desirable but not essential

• Current Open Australian Drivers License with a reliable, registered, and comprehensively insured car

• Flu vaccinations (or willingness to obtain)

• Evidence of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations

• Basic computer skills to operate tablet devices

• Accurate documentation skills

• Willingness to work in a wide range of diverse settings including community and at clients’ homes

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and report as required to your supervisor

• Empathy, patience, understanding and a real passion for supporting the elderly

Job Requirements

• Evidence of Australian Works Rights (Birth Certificate, Passport etc.)

• 2 Professional Work Referees

• National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)

• Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
