Position Details

• Job Title: Sushi Chef

• Employment Type: Full-time (Part-time may be considered)

• Location: Masuya Japanese Restaurant (12-14 O’Connell Street, Sydney NSW)

• Working Hours: 5 days a week, flexible schedule

• Salary: $80,000 per year (negotiable based on experience)

• Experience Required: Minimum 4 years in a similar role

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality sushi, sashimi, and other traditional Japanese dishes

• Select, handle, and manage fresh seafood and ingredients

• Maintain hygiene standards and manage kitchen inventory

• Collaborate with the team on seasonal menus and kitchen operations

• Deliver an excellent dining experience through attention to detail and presentation

• (Optional) Perform sushi-making at the counter for live service

Requirements

• Proven skills in sushi preparation and knife handling

• Strong knowledge of seafood selection and storage

• Basic communication in English

• A team player with a professional and responsible work ethic

• Long-term commitment to working and growing in Australia is preferred
