System Administrator

Our client is looking for a skilled Systems Administrator to manage and support our IT platform, ensuring smooth daily operations and resolving technical issues. This role involves working within a large-scale enterprise environment, supporting hundreds of servers and thousands of end users.

A leading Australian engineering group providing construction, maintenance, and industrial services to the resources, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

Description

Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation, administration, and support of the IT platform. You will be a key point of escalation for technical issues and will work within an ITIL framework to ensure that IT changes are controlled and do not adversely affect the business.

• Oversee the daily operation, administration, and support of the IT platform.
• Resolve technical issues and provide escalation support.
• Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders.
• Support a diverse customer base from both office and site-based locations.
• Collaborate with other teams within the IT group.

Profile

• Experience in supporting and administering medium to large-scale IT environments (100-200+ servers, 1000+ end users).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in:
  • Microsoft Azure and PowerShell
  • Windows Server
  • Active Directory
  • Virtualisation (VMWare)
  • Office 365
  • Data centre servers and storage
  • Backup software (preferably Commvault)
  • ITIL framework
