Position Information

Belmore Boys High School is a school of approximately 640 students and 75 teaching and non-teaching staff, located in Southwest Sydney. Our diverse student population represents 35 languages with 98% of students from language backgrounds other than English. Our Family Occupation Index is 134 and Index of Community and Socio-economic Advantage is 949, leading our school to being identified as a socio-economically disadvantaged setting.

Our school specialises on boys' education, focusing on the academic, social and emotional growth of our students. Our boys enjoy positive relationships with their teachers and peers, which allows them to be creative and confident learners who recognise the importance of learning and well-being. Our learning environment provides students with tailored learning experiences through planned, explicit and differentiated learning activities. Our school also offers a wide curriculum allowing students to successfully transition into a diverse range of future learning and employment opportunities.


Selection Criteria

Specific Selection Criteria

  • Approval to teach Legal Studies and Business Studies.
  • Demonstrated capacity to differentiate curriculum to meet the needs of students from Non-English-Speaking Backgrounds and low Socio-Economic Status communities. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with staff, students, families and service providers to achieve positive learning and wellbeing outcomes for all students.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
