About You
With a passion for delivering quality client-directed supports, you will understand risk, have sound problem solving skills and demonstrate good judgement in decision making. This will be founded in relevant experience leading others, a strong understanding of complex mental disability as well as motivation to progress your career. In addition, you will have:

  • Effective listening skills and an adaptable professional communication style
  • The ability to react quickly and think on your feet in critical situations
  • Excellent time management skills and work with a sense of urgency
  • A demonstrated ability to coach and lead a team
  • An understanding of the NDIS and its impact on outcomes for clients and existing models of service delivery
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, Disability, Social Work, Psychology or other relevant qualification or significant relevant experience

It is a requirement of this position to meet all compliance requirements in relation to NDIS Work Screening, Working With Children’s Check, work rights and possess a current & valid driver’s license.

About the role
As a Team Leader you are responsible for the management and operation of programs that provide complex, recovery-oriented support for people with a persistent mental illness who will often have a history of homelessness, addiction, disability, social dysfunction, aggressive and inappropriate behaviours.  These programs are spread across the Northern and Western Suburbs of Melbourne. To achieve this the role entails:

  • Ensuring staff maintain a focus on client directed needs to achieve client directed outcomes & service delivery objectives
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with all relevant stakeholders, such as care teams, as well as holding regular supervision and team meetings with staff 
  • Ensuring compliance with all internal & external requirements including case noting, incident management and mandatory NDIS reporting are completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Managing rostering, fleet allocation, SIL supplies (such as PPE) etc, to ensure staff are able to perform their role appropriately and safely
  • Training and mentoring staff, and engage in formal performance management where required
  • Participating in a rotating after-hours On-Call roster

This is a full time role, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
This role requires you to be able to work from home, as well as complete regular visits to work sites (client homes) throughout the northern and western suburbs of Greater Melbourne. You will also be expected to visit the Head Office in Dandenong South when required.
