Australian owned and based in Melbourne, JAK MAX is a wholesale outdoor power equipment and parts distributor, dedicated to servicing the outdoor power equipment dealers' and industry nationwide.

An exciting opportunity is now available for a focused, highly motivated Technical Support Officer to join our dynamic and experienced team. This role is a permanent full-time position working Monday - Friday 8.30-5pm, with flexi start times.

Reporting to the National Tech Services Manager, you’ll be part of the technical team supporting Greenworks across Australia & New Zealand. This role is half on the tools and half off the tools and is perfect for a technician’s next step in his/her career. As a Technical Support Officer, you will be a valued member of the front-line team who assists our customers with their technical questions and queries.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering calls, live chats, and/or emails from customers

  • Preforming software updates on machines and equipment

  • Working with software that includes CAN systems/MS Office

  • R&D with the Tech Services Manager to explore new product avenues

  • Assisting with training seminars and eventually also presenting after being skilled

  • Troubleshooting over the phone or in person, on machines/equipment

  • Help with store setup & tradeshows where required

  • Servicing of Demo stock units + minor repairs

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Cert III in Automotive Technology or Outdoor Power Equipment Technology or related Qualification (Experience will also be considered)

  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, at least 5 years’ experience on the tools or in a workshop Environment

  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team

  • Battery chemistry knowledge would be good but is not essential

  • CAN systems experience would be good but is not essential

  • Practical experience using diagnostic equipment to record and analyse data to determine faults and write up a detailed summary

  • Curious about Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Battery Technology or willing to learn

  • Good understanding of electricity

  • Physically fit

  • Willing to travel international and interstate from time to time
