About the role:

We are looking for a Town Planner with a comprehensive knowledge of the New South Wales statutory planning system. Day-to-day you will oversee and manage projects through client interaction, working with other team members providing direction and assistance, having an active role in project completion/ delivery, managing project budgets and time allocation, and working to meet deadlines and client needs.

Task & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Client liaison and assisting with representing the company in client meetings and meetings with local authorities; 
  • Providing expert advice on planning and development issues; 
  • Comprehensive town planning research;
  • Overseeing the planning process from initial concept through to project completion. This includes coordinating with architects, engineers and other professionals to ensure the project progresses smoothly;
  • Negotiate with local councils and government agencies to secure approvals and permits; and
  • Prepare and submit development applications to local councils and other regulatory bodies. This involves compiling necessary documentation, plans, and reports to support the application; 
  • Assistance with day-to-day running of a range of planning projects under the direction of senior staff. 
Qualification & Experience

It’s essential that you:  

  • Have degree qualifications in town planning or related disciplines;
  • Have at least one year’s town planning experience in the public or private sector in NSW;
  • Are driven by solving complex problems, and have strong research, analytical and technical skills; 
  • Are highly agile with top-notch reporting, communication and client management abilities; and
  • Are passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic.
