Trade Assistant Yard Hand

Gemco Rail, a subsidiary of Engenco Limited, specialises in the manufacture of rail products and provision of maintenance services to national rail operators. Gemco Rail provides a large range of components for locomotives and wagons. Maintenance services include facility based and in in-field support to maximise value for the customer. Around Australia Gemco Rail supports all types of railway operations including heavy haul, freight, and passenger.

We are currently seeking a driven and experienced casual Trades Assistant/ Yard Hand to join our team in Forrestfield, Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

• General forklift duties on site

• General maintenance on site

Essential Requirements:

To be successful in this position, you will need to:

• Have a C-Class driver's license

• Have a National High Risk Work Licence 

• Have strong forklift operating experience and basic oxy-acetylene experience

• Follow safe working procedures

• Have good mechanical skills to use a variety of hand tools and pneumatic tools

• Maintain a clean workshop environment

Desirable Qualifications

The following qualifications or experience will help the candidate succeed in this role:

• Rigging, dogging and overhead crane qualifications (in addition to forklift)
