VET Trainer & Assessor – Certificate III in Civil Construction / Plant Operations
About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced VET Trainer and Assessor to deliver and assess Certificate III in Civil Construction (RII30820) and/or Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations (RII30920) in alignment with ASQA standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the civil construction industry, a passion for vocational education, and a commitment to delivering quality, compliant training that supports students in becoming competent and job-ready.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and compliant training sessions in RII30820 and/or RII30920
- Conduct assessments aligned with the principles of assessment and rules of evidence
- Develop and contextualise training materials to meet learner and industry needs
- Monitor, record, and maintain accurate documentation of student attendance, progress, and assessments
- Provide tailored support and feedback to students to support learning and skill development
- Ensure all training and assessment activities meet RTO and ASQA compliance requirements
- Participate in ongoing validation and moderation processes
- Maintain industry currency through relevant work experience and continuous professional development
Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Certificate III in Civil Construction (RII30820) and/or Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations (RII30920)

TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or its successor, or TAE40110 with TAELLN411 and TAEASS502)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent, verifiable industry experience in civil construction or plant operations (references required)
- Current knowledge of industry tools, equipment, WHS requirements, and worksite practices
- Understanding of ASQA compliance and assessment frameworks
Desirable Attributes:
- Holding both RII30820 and RII30920 is highly desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized and self-driven with strong attention to detail
- Experience delivering training in a VET or workplace setting
- Familiarity with online delivery platforms and digital training tools
- Commitment to student learning, engagement, and industry readiness
