About the Role

WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced and driven Transport Allocator (Scheduler) to join the team at their Port Botany Depot. This permanent, full-time position is responsible for planning and scheduling daily container transport operations, ensuring efficient use of fleet resources while maintaining compliance with relevant transport regulations. You’ll be part of a supportive, fast-paced environment where quick thinking and problem-solving are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule fleet via VBS Booking system and Containerchain software to maximise fleet capacity

  • Allocate daily FCL deliveries and MT collections across various equipment types/trucks

  • Liaise closely with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers to ensure smooth operations

  • Enter and manage freight movement data and ensure all records are up to date

  • Proactively participate in daily fleet maintenance planning and strategy

  • Forward plan jobs and transport needs for the next day

  • Monitor and maintain Chain of Responsibility and fatigue management compliance

Skills and Experience Required

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in container fleet allocation

  • Strong understanding of fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility

  • In-depth knowledge of equipment types and transport operations

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Sound understanding of Main Roads Regulations and PBS defined routes

  • High-level computer literacy and quick to learn new systems

  • Proficient in MS Office and transport management software

Desirable

  • Experience using Container Chain, MT Data, and 1Stop VBS

  • Understanding of HML weight limits

  • DISC Personality Assessment may be required as part of onboarding
