Alliance Metal Solutions are seeking a reliable Truck Driver/General Hand to join our team.  Using our fleet of medium rigid trucks, the role involves transporting manufactured product'sV to commercial customers located in the regions of Sydney, Central Coast and Newcastle.

Owners Shane Blewden and Sean Carragher have grown Alliance Metal Solutions to a large sheet metal manufacturer serving industries Australia wide, including construction, telecommunications, mining, energy, agriculture, FMCG and medical.  Our services include product design, tube laser cutting, flat bed laser cutting, turret punching, plasma cutting, MIG/TIG welding, CNC machining, assembly and powder coating.

Hands-on in a fast paced, dynamic business, Shane and Sean lead a team of tradespeople in a working environment that values teamwork, initiative, open communication and a can-do attitude.

 The Position

As a Truck driver with us, you will be responsible for:

• safely transporting manufactured product packed to pallets or crates in the regions of Sydney, Central Coast and Newcastle

• engaging with the dispatch team on delivery schedules to ensure maximum efficiency in pick up and delivery runs

• safely loading and unloading product using a forklift 

• securing all loads thoroughly for protection of the product and safe transportation 

• communicating with customers and suppliers in a friendly and professional manner

• obeying all road rules and maintaining safe driving practices at all times whilst operating the company branded vehicles

• assessing the condition of the truck before, during and after delivery runs and reporting all truck maintenance requirements and / or safety issues as a matter of high priority 

• always working in a safe manner for yourself, the broader team, suppliers and customers 

• working independently and efficiently in completing pick ups and deliveries

• being adaptable – with the range of industries and customers we serve and the diversity in the projects we complete, no two days are the same

To be successful you must:

• hold a current MR licence (required)

• hold a current forklift licence (preferred)

• have a clean driving record

• if not an Australian citizen, hold a valid visa with permission to work in Australia
