Employment Type: Full-time (38 hours per week)

Salary: AUD $ 65,500– AUD $ 76,700 (plus superannuation) 

At the Spot Italiano, a Food and Beverage Attendant oversees some daily operations of the restaurant to ensure exceptional dining and catering services. They greet customers, serve meals and drinks and enhance customer satisfaction, amongst others. Their role is essential in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly to make them feel welcome.
• Uphold high standards of cleanliness, operational efficiency, and a presentable and well-maintained appearance of the venue. 
• Prepare and arrange dining tables in accordance with our establishment standards.
• Ability to present the menu and beverages list to patrons in a professional manner.
• Accurately take customer orders and communicate them to kitchen and bar staff.
• Ability to serve meals and beverages in a professional and timely manner.
• Responsible for clearing tables, returning used dishes, glassware and cutlery to the kitchen for cleaning.
• Collecting payments for sales and operating point-of-sale machines and cash registers.
• Open wine bottles and other beverages and pour drinks appropriately.
• Offer wine recommendations to enhance the dining experience when appropriate.
• May assist with restaurant table reservations and/or coordinating any special event and/or function of The Spot Italiano. 
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Skills required:

• Ability to engage with patrons to assess the customer service provided and meal satisfaction in a professional and friendly manner.
• Proven experience as a waiter or similar role in hospitality.
• Good communication skills to ensure a positive work environment among the staff.

Additional requirements:

• Familiar with Italian hospitality etiquette is preferable.
• May be required to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
• Hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol card.
• Current Approved Manager Card is a plus.

Qualifications & experience

An AQF Certificate II or III in Hospitality

or

At least 1 year of relevant full-time work experience as a Waiter in lieu of the qualifications above.
