• Greeting and seating: Welcoming customers and seating them at tables 

• Taking orders: Taking orders from customers and entering them into the POS system 

• Communicating orders: Communicating orders to the kitchen and ensuring accuracy 

• Serving food and drinks: Serving food and drinks to customers in a prompt and efficient manner 

• Providing recommendations: Memorizing the menu and offering recommendations to upsell items 

• Catering to special requests: Ensuring people with allergies are safe 

• Handling payments: Handling cash or card payments 

• Maintaining dining area: Keeping the dining area clean and tidy 

• Providing exceptional service: Providing exceptional service that encourages repeat business and positive reviews 

Waiters and waitresses are the primary point of contact between the restaurant and its patrons, so they need to have excellent communication skills, attentiveness, and a warm demeanor.
