Our Company

Asian United Food Service is a local award winning independent family owned and operated food wholesaler and distributor, established for over 40 years in Darwin.  We supply the hospitality and catering industries as well as government bodies in the Northern Territory and the remote communities on our borders.  Due to our continuing growth, we require multiple Warehouse Pickers/Packers and Storepersons to join our team on a casual basis.

We are seeking multiple Warehouse Stock Pickers and Storepersons to receive, store, pick, pack and dispatch customer orders, in both our Cold and Dry Storage divisions. 

This is a 100% on-site role located in Darwin.

The Role

As part of a team, you will be stacking goods, cleaning the warehouse, and/or checking, receiving, storing, picking and packing frozen and chiller goods or dry goods ready to be delivered to our customers. 

  • Immediate start available 

  • Monday - Saturday hours on a rotating roster 

  • Casual positions

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Unload incoming delivers of stock from the truck with the forklift

  • Check off stock against Supplier invoice and ensure what has been invoiced has been received 

  • Communicate with the office about discrepancies, short deliveries, damages etc

  • Replenish warehouse with stocks 

  • Rotation of stocks to ensure FIFO using high reach forklifts  

  • Stocktake and batch checking of expiry dates

  • Picking and Packing customer orders

  • Cleaning of warehouse

  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace

  • Abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures

  • Abide by all Traffic Management Plan rules and regulations 

  • Other tasks as directed by Senior Storeperson and/or Management

  • Daily Operator checklist to be filled in – equipment pallet mover or forklift

Skills/Competencies Required

  • Forklift licensed (not essential) and experience  

  • Be able to work in cold temperatures, PPE will be provided 

  • Be proficient in the English language and have great writing, reading and speaking skills

  • Be able to work in a robust environment 

  • Happy to work in repetitive role

  • Have a sense of humour

  • Work well as a part of a team

  • Be reliable, punctual and have initiative 

  • Have a high level of attention to detail

  • Have full working rights in Australia

  • Having experience in the food industry is highly considered

  • MR/HR Driver's license is desirable, but not essential
