The Role
Joint Logistics Unit East – Moorebank seeks a high performing, experienced, Work Health Safety and Facilities Manager who is enthusiastic, flexible and highly organised to provide business services for the Unit and support the Business Manager to successfully deliver business strategy, facility and work health and safety objectives, whilst adhering to regulatory compliance. In this role, you will work within a team of professionals, manage and lead the safety, operational administration and business support services for an integrated workforce comprising ADF, APS and contracted personnel. You will be required to ensure key Unit assets are maintained, facility enhancements and projects delivered within a timely manner and ensure the Work, Health and Safety responsibilities are delivered in accordance within Legislative requirements, Defence policy and industry best practice.

About our Team
Joint Logistics Unit East (JLU-E) delivers logistics services including warehousing, distribution and material maintenance to Defence customers in New South Wales, nationally and overseas. The role operates within the Business Management (BM) branch. The BM team is responsible for providing advice to senior leadership and performs business support services to JLU-E, including our industry partners, across a broad range of functions and activities including Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), human resources, inventory assurance, data analysis, travel, records management, facilities management, finance and procurement.

We are looking for an energetic, customer focused, open minded and practical individual who has the ability to work autonomously and effectively manage teams and individual workloads and priorities. 

To succeed in this role, you need:  

  • A proven ability to obtain or have at minimum a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating administrative and business support activities for an organisation.
  • The skills, knowledge, and experience in conducting safety audits and risk assessments.
  • The skills, knowledge and experience necessary to provide advice and services for a range of complex corporate, administration and business support activities.
  • A proven ability to engage and negotiate with stakeholders on complex issues to achieve business outcomes.
  • An ability to work collaboratively to build and sustain effective relationships and operate as an effective manager.
  • An ability to work in a fluid environment by remaining flexible, agile, and adaptable.
  • A keen eye for detail and effective communication skills. 
Eligibility

Security Clearance:
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Negative Vetting Level 1”.
