Storeperson / Workshop Assistant

Metric Engineering require an experienced, full-time store person and trade assistant to join the team in our fabrication and manufacturing business

No two days will be the same and you will be truly appreciated for the quality of your work. This role does require manual handling and a variety in duties is guaranteed each day.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Responsible for receiving goods, reconciling deliveries to purchase orders and allocating as required.

• Organise deliveries and pick ups.

• Cutting of materials and preparing lasercut parts for fabrication.

• Use of power tools. (eg. Grinder, drill, etc)

• Handle tasks of picking, packing and shipping orders of parts and equipment.

• Providing freight dimensions & weights for freight logistics.

• Load and unload trucks, ensuring safe storage in pallet racking using a forklift.

• Maintain organised stock storage, ensuring clarity in labeling and location.

• Keep workshop vehicles cleaned & maintained. 

• Generally keep workshop in a safe, clean and tidy state.

• Able to work in a team environment as well as working independently.

• Continually use initiative and seek areas for improvement

Qualifications & Experience

• Full manual driver's license with a good driving record is required.

• Proven warehousing experience advantageous.

• Current forklift license an advantage.

• Ability to safely perform lifting tasks.

• Comprehensive understanding of WHS procedures
