Eureka Furniture is a family-owned Australian furniture and homewares business with 40 locations from Cairns to Victoria. Founded in 1986, we design, source, and retail high-quality recycled timber furniture, we also have and a wide range of lounges and homewares.
We have an opportunity for an experience team leader to join our assembly and refinishing area. Our ideal applicant would be a cabinet maker, or someone with carpentry skills, who can also manage a small team to ensure that key performance indicators are achieved consistently.
The Role:
As the Workshop team lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our workshops and ensuring the smooth functioning of these areas. You will play a crucial role in managing and supporting our workshop team in coordination work volumes in and ensuring needs are completed on time to a high standard.
The area will include a spray shop, assembly team, and repairs which will require you to provide hands on support to the teams.
Your Responsibilities:
To lead the workshop team, with a hands-on approach
To ensure good communication with other departments for supply into workshop and out to delivery area is smooth
To review work volumes and ensure adequate staffing to complete tasks
To ensure all required needs, consumables are ordered and available for work workshop needs
Be able to work on system to review needs in and out of workshop areas
To ensure delivery of product is on time and of a high standard
To identify and implement training for staff, including problem solving of product not up to standards
To document and report quality issues for suppliers to be billed
To oversee maintenance of working areas for flow and efficiency
To ensure completion of all paperwork relating to the completion of jobs, including timesheets, reports, and other required information
To adhere to all WHS protocols and policies.
Your Experience:
Experience in a leadership role
Ideally trade experience in cabinet making or carpentry
Ideally warehouse management systems experience
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong people skills
Running team meeting
Strong problem-solving skills
