The key functions of Driller role include:
• Health, safety and wellbeing of the drill crew and any visitors to the drill site
• Leadership and direction of the drill crew
• Correct set up and operation of the drill rig
• Maintenance of the drill site and associated equipment to the required standard
• Training and development of self and crew members
• Ensure that Pre-start checks, and safety inspections are completed to required standards.
• Ensure that servicing and maintenance of drill rig and auxiliary equipment is performed to the required standard.
• Ensure that hole plans are read/understood, and the drill rig is correctly set-up and authority gained (where required) to commence drilling.
• Rig operation complies with all company and client policy/procedures.
• Ensure core recovered is complete, clean, accurate and clearly marked up
• Ensure drill site is always maintained to required standards through housekeeping and regular inspections.
• Effectively communicate as required by company and client. This includes written reports, electronic reporting, and verbal communication.
• Active involvement in training of driller assistants
