Our pharmacists play an important role beyond dispensing medicines by providing medication advice, supporting the safe and effective use of medicines and assisting customers with their everyday health needs.</p><p>The successful applicant will work closely with our pharmacy team and customers to deliver accurate dispensing, professional medication counselling and high-quality community pharmacy services.</p><br><h3>Benefits</h3><ul><li>Competitive remuneration package</li><li>&nbsp;Full-time, stable employment with an established community pharmacy</li><li>&nbsp;Supportive and collaborative pharmacy team environment</li><li>&nbsp;Opportunity to work within the well-recognised TerryWhite Chemmart network</li><li>&nbsp;Ongoing professional development and learning opportunities</li><li>&nbsp;Exposure to a broad range of community pharmacy and professional health services</li><li>&nbsp;Opportunity to develop your skills across dispensing, medication management and patient-centred pharmacy services</li><li>&nbsp;Regular interaction with and opportunity to make a positive impact on the local community</li><li>&nbsp;Professional and customer-focused workplace environment Superannuation and employee entitlements in accordance with applicable Australian workplace requirements</li></ul><br><h3>Task & responsibilities</h3><p>As a Retail Pharmacist, your responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li>Receive and review prescriptions, assess patients' medication histories and check appropriate dosage, administration, interactions, contraindications and medicine compatibility before dispensing.</li><li>Accurately dispense and label prescription medicines and supervise the preparation of medications where required, ensuring compliance with professional and legislative requirements.</li><li>Counsel customers on the safe and effective use of prescribed medicines, including dosage, administration, possible interactions, precautions, storage and medication adherence.</li><li>Review and monitor individual customers' medication therapy and provide appropriate advice to support safe medicine use and positive health outcomes.</li><li>Liaise with doctors and other healthcare professionals where clarification is required regarding prescriptions, medicine interactions, contraindications or other medication-related concerns.</li><li>Provide professional advice on non-prescription medicines, therapeutic products and health-related aids, helping customers select appropriate products for their individual healthcare needs.</li><li>Educate customers on health promotion, disease prevention, medication management and responsible use of medicines as part of our community-focused pharmacy service.</li><li>Maintain accurate prescription records and appropriately manage and record-controlled medicines, poisons and other regulated medications in accordance with applicable requirements.</li><li>Ensure medicines, vaccines and other temperature-sensitive products are received, stored and maintained under appropriate conditions to preserve their safety and effectiveness.</li><li>Participate in relevant community pharmacy and health services offered by the pharmacy, within the pharmacist's professional scope, training and accreditation.</li><li>Supervise and provide professional guidance to pharmacy interns, dispensary staff, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Sales Assistants to support safe and efficient pharmacy operations.</li><li>Maintain high standards of professional practice, patient confidentiality, dispensing accuracy, medication safety and compliance with pharmacy policies and relevant regulatory requirements.</li></ul><br><h3>Qualification & experience</h3><p>To be successful in this position, you will have:</p><ul><li>A recognised Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent pharmacy qualification.</li><li>Current registration as a Pharmacist.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of prescription dispensing, medication safety and community pharmacy practice.</li><li>Strong understanding of relevant pharmacy legislation, professional standards and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear and professional medication counselling.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to dispensing accuracy and patient safety.</li><li>Ability to work effectively within a busy community pharmacy environment.</li><li>A genuine commitment to providing professional, patient-centred healthcare and exceptional customer service.</li></ul>
