Little Leo’s is seeking an experienced and committed Room Leader to support the delivery of high-quality early childhood education and care within its early learning centre operations.The Room Leader will provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to educators within the room while remaining actively involved in the care, supervision, learning and development of children. The role is responsible for maintaining a safe, inclusive, engaging and child-centred environment that supports children’s wellbeing, development and participation.Working collaboratively with the children throughout daily routines, indoor and outdoor activities, transitions, meals and rest periods.</li><li>Lead and support educators within the room to provide high-quality, child-centred education and care.</li><li>Assist with the planning, implementation, documentation and evaluation of age-appropriate, play-based learning and developmental experiences.</li><li>Support the delivery privacy.</li><li>Observe children’s learning, wellbeing, behaviour, interests and development and contribute to appropriate observations, records and learning documentation.</li><li>Guide and support educators in maintaining effective supervision, appropriate routines and consistent standards of care within the room.</li><li>Provide day-to-day guidance, mentoring and feedback to educators and support teamwork and shared responsibility within the room.</li><li>Assist in organising educator responsibilities and maintaining appropriate supervision arrangements throughout the day.</li><li>Maintain safe, clean, organised and engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments and identify and report hazards or safety concerns.</li><li>Ensure appropriate procedures are followed in relation to child safety, hygiene, infection control, food safety, allergies, medical conditions, illness, incidents and emergency responses.</li><li>Build positive and professional relationships with families and communicate appropriately regarding children’s learning, development, wellbeing and daily experiences.</li><li>Support children and families during transitions into, between and from rooms and programs.</li><li>Maintain appropriate confidentiality and privacy in relation to children, families and employees.</li><li>Participate in staff meetings, professional development, critical reflection and continuous improvement activities.</li><li>Support compliance with educator-to-child ratios, attendance requirements, child-safe practices and other relevant regulatory obligations.</li><li>Follow Little Leo’s policies, procedures and philosophy and comply with applicable early childhood education and care, child safety, workplace health and safety and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Promptly report and escalate child safety, supervision, compliance, conduct or practice concerns to the Centre Director/Nominated Supervisor where required.</li></ul> <h3>Qualification & experience</h3><ul><li>Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or an ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification.</li><li>Approximately 2–4 years of relevant experience within an early childhood education, childcare or similar environment, preferably including room leadership or senior educator responsibilities.</li><li>Strong practical understanding of children’s developmental needs, learning, wellbeing and age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.</li><li>Sound knowledge of active supervision, child safety, hygiene, duty of care and safe early childhood practices.</li><li>Understanding of play-based learning and the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to guide, support and work collaboratively with educators within an early childhood education and care team.</li><li>Ability to establish positive, respectful and supportive relationships with children and families.</li><li>Strong communication, teamwork, organisational and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to maintain appropriate records and communicate observations relating to children’s learning, development and wellbeing.</li><li>Strong awareness of confidentiality, professional conduct and regulatory responsibilities.</li><li>Current and valid NSW Working With Children Check.</li><li>Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis Management and Emergency Asthma Management training, where required.</li><li>Caring, patient and attentive approach with a strong commitment to children’s safety, wellbeing, learning and
